{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-268.550","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 268.550","heading":"Drain crossing public highway -- When county constructs bridge or","body":"culvert.\n(1) If a drain improving any channel or watercourse in a district is on the line of any\nnatural depression or watercourse which crosses any public highway where there is\nno bridge or culvert or opening in the highway sufficient to allow the flow of water\nin the drain as improved, the board shall give notice to the road commissioners or\nroad engineer to construct or enlarge the bridge, culvert or opening to meet the\nimprovement, stating the dimensions required. The road commissioners or engineer\nshall, within thirty (30) days from the time notice is served, make the improvement\nrequired.\n(2) If they fail or refuse to do so, then the board shall construct or enlarge the bridge,\nculvert or opening at the expense of the county, and the fiscal court shall reimbu rse\nthe board for the cost of the work.
