{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-268.650","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 268.650","heading":"Discontinuance of improvement.","body":"In counties containing not more than one (1) drainage district established under Chapter\n268 of the Kentucky Revised Statutes, or under the Act of 1918 from which it came,\ntwenty-five percent (25%) of the landowners, or the owners of twenty -five percent (25%)\nof the land, may, at any time petition the fiscal court for a discontinuation of the\nimprovement. The petition shall give the names of all persons interested in the\nmaintenance of the improvement and owning land in the district. The court shall conduct\na hearing on the matter, and shall issue notices thereof at least fifteen (15) days before the\nhearing and cause them to be served upon all parties interested, notifying them that the\ncourt will consider them at the hearing. If no valid reason is shown ag ainst the\ndiscontinuance of the improvement, the court shall enter an order discontinuing it, after\nwhich it shall cease to be a public improvement.
