{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-269.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 269.070","heading":"County may drain land -- Payment of cost -- Acquisition of necessary land.","body":"Any county may remove any ponds, pools, or swamp marshes, or reclaim swamp land\nthat may cause sickness in the county, by ditching, leveeing, or cleaning out logs and\nbrush that may cause any creek to scatter or form pools of stagnant water. The cost shall\nbe paid for out of the county levy or by taxation of the property in the county subject to\ntaxation for state purposes. When the fiscal court undertakes such a project, it may\nacquire for the county by contract or condemnation any land necessary to carry out the\nproject.
