{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-26a.260","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 26A.260","heading":"Web site to provide public access to expenditure records of judicial","body":"branch -- Monthly and weekly updates -- AOC is sole custodian of information\nand records -- Branches to share software and applications.\n(1) By January 1, 2012, the Administrative Of fice of the Courts, under the direction of\nthe Chief Justice, shall provide public access to records relating to expenditures of\nthe judicial branch of state government through display of the records on a Web\nsite. The Web site shall provide:\n(a) Financial information of expenditures not exempt under the provisions of state\nor federal law, including:\n1. The payee name;\n2. The category or type of the expenditure;\n3. A description of the reason for the expenditure, if available;\n4. The expenditure amount; and\n5. A link to the financial document, if the document is electronically\navailable;\n(b) A searchable format;\n(c) Access to the current enacted Judicial Branch Budget; and\n(d) A link to the public access Web site displays of the executive and legislative\nbranches of state government, and of the public institutions of higher\neducation.\n(2) Information on the Web site shall be updated at least on a monthly basis. However,\ninformation on the Web site which is part of, or contained in, an electronic\naccounting sy stem utilized by all branches of state government, such as the\nEnhanced Management Administrative Reporting System (EMARS), shall be\nupdated on a weekly basis.\n(3) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall maintain exclusive control and be\nconsidered t he sole custodian of all information and records generated by and\nthrough activity of the judicial branch of government, notwithstanding the situs of\nthe information and records in another branch of government, and disclosure thereof\nshall only be by the A dministrative Office of the Courts in accordance with\napplicable law.\n(4) In order to reduce Web site development costs and enhance public access and use of\nrecords viewed through Web sites as provided by this section and KRS 7.505 and\n42.032, each branch of state government shall freely share with the other branches\nof state government the software, software developments, and all applications, data,\nand information within its control used for Web site design, appearance, content,\nand operation in compliance with, or in furtherance of, the purposes contemplated\nby this section and KRS 7.505 and 42.032.","path":["KRS Chapter 26A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=39925","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:46Z","sha256":"173e57495ccedbb92026fdee100a53189e03daab3bdde0840a1688a9ebe56199","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-26a.250","next":"us-ky/krs-26a.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
