{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-271b.14-060","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 271B.14-060","heading":"Known claims against dissolved corporation.","body":"(1) A dissolved corporation may dispose of the known claims against it by following\nthe procedure described in this section.\n(2) The dissolved corporation shall notify its known claimants in writing of the\ndissolution at any time after its effective date. The written notice shall:\n(a) Describe information that must be included in a claim;\n(b) Provide a mailing address where a claim may be sent;\n(c) State the deadline, which may not be fewer than one hundred twenty (120)\ndays from the effective date of the writt en notice, by which the dissolved\ncorporation must receive the claim; and\n(d) State that the claim will be barred if not received by the deadline.\n(3) A claim against the dissolved corporation shall be barred:\n(a) If a claimant who was given written notice under subsection (2) of this section\ndoes not deliver the claim to the dissolved corporation by the deadline;\n(b) If a claimant whose claim was rejected by the dissolved corporation does not\ncommence a proceeding to enforce the claim within ninety (90) da ys from the\neffective date of the rejection notice.\n(4) For purposes of this section, \"claim\" shall not include a contingent liability, a claim\nbased on an event occurring after the effective date of dissolution or any liability to\nthe Commonwealth or the United States for any state or federal tax liability.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=13452","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:20Z","sha256":"11bf6d87ccf44985f4015dffd59102a9c01f7c4a153db9d0bce77c0d8e6e7b3d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-271b.14-050","next":"us-ky/krs-271b.14-070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
