{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-273a.130","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 273A.130","heading":"Winding up and termination.","body":"Winding up and termination of an unincorporated nonprofit association shall proceed in\naccordance with the following rules:\n(1) All known debts and liabilities shall be paid or adequately provided for;\n(2) Any property subject to a condition requiring retu rn to the person designated by the\ndonor shall be transferred to that person;\n(3) Any property subject to a trust shall be distributed in accordance with the trust\nagreement; and\n(4) Any remaining property shall be distributed as follows:\n(a) As required b y law other than this chapter that requires assets of an\nassociation to be distributed to another person with similar nonprofit\npurposes;\n(b) In accordance with the association's governing principles or, in the absence of\napplicable governing principles, t o the members of the association per capita\nor as the members direct; or\n(c) If neither paragraph (a) nor (b) of this subsection applies, as directed by the\nappropriate court.","path":["KRS Chapter 273A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=44350","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:26Z","sha256":"92d9ba566d38371c322d493ade4ad8366071d84983953c79dec25134cde6564c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-273a.125","next":"us-ky/krs-273a.135"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
