{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-278.262","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 278.262","heading":"Definitions for KRS 278.262 and 278.264.","body":"As used in this section and KRS 278.264:\n(1) \"Electric generating unit\" means one (1) or more fossil fuel -fired combustion or\nsteam generating sources used for generating electricity that deliver all or part of\ntheir power to the electric power grid for sale;\n(2) \"Reliability\" means having adequate e lectric generation capacity to safely deliver\nelectric energy in the quantity, with the quality, and at a time that the utility\ncustomers demand;\n(3) \"Resilience\" means having the ability to quickly and effectively respond to and\nrecover from events that compromise grid reliability;\n(4) \"Retirement\" or \"retired\" means the closure or the complete and permanent\ncessation of operations at an electric generating unit; and\n(5) \"Utility\" has the same meaning as in KRS 278.010(3)(a).","path":["KRS Chapter 278"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53545","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:30Z","sha256":"90e36f311be08553ff23e460c3f5c67e7e66b3a6e079ca6bcfd50a6b6e6bacf0","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-278.260","next":"us-ky/krs-278.264"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
