{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-278.508","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 278.508","heading":"Exemption of sale of natural gas used as a motor vehicle fuel from","body":"regulation -- Regulation of transportation, distribution, or delivery of natural\ngas used as a motor vehicle fuel.\n(1) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter, the rates, terms, and\nconditions of service for the sale of natural gas to a compressed natural gas fuel\nstation, retailer, or to any end -user for use as a motor vehicle fuel, shall not be\nsubject to regulation by the Kentucky Public Service Commission. Any utility\nprovider of such a nonregulated service shall keep separate records and books of\naccount adequate to allow the commission to allocate costs and revenues and to\nperform other acts that will assist the commission in enforcing this section.\n(2) The transportation, distribution, or delivery of natural gas to any compressed natural\ngas fuel station, retailer, or any end -user for use as a motor vehicle fuel, shall\ncontinue to be subject to regulation by the Kentucky Public Service Commission.\nUpon request by the u tility, the commission shall set flexible rates which provide a\nfair opportunity to compete with other motor fuels. Price adjustment pursuant to\nthese flexible rates are not rate changes for purposes of this chapter.\n(3) The sales or transportation transac tions described in this section shall not adversely\naffect the regulated utility's cost or costs, or the availability of natural gas to its\nutility sales customers.","path":["KRS Chapter 278"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14138","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:30Z","sha256":"a8b46e18d6afef785b437ed682872b20a133d50eeff73cb42ca9de9ae2d46164","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-278.507","next":"us-ky/krs-278.5085"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
