{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-278.546","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 278.546","heading":"Legislative findings and determinations relating to telecommunications.","body":"Whereas, the General Assembly finds and determines that:\n(1) State-of-the-art telecommunications is an essential element to the Commonwealth's\ninitiatives to improve the lives of Kentucky citizens, to create investment, jobs,\neconomic growth, and to support the Kentucky Innovation Act of 2000;\n(2) Streamlined regulation in competitive markets encourages investment in the\nCommonwealth's telecommunications infrastructure;\n(3) Consumers in the Commonwealth have many choices in telecommunications\nservices becau se competition between various telecommunications technologies\nsuch as traditional telephony, cable television, Internet and other wireless\ntechnologies has become commonplace;\n(4) Consumers benefit from market -based competition that offers consumers of\ntelecommunications services the most innovative and economical services; and\n(5) Consumer protections against fraud and abuse, for the provision of affordable basic\nservice, and for access to emergency services including enhanced 911 must\ncontinue.","path":["KRS Chapter 278"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14154","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:30Z","sha256":"eaaeade54f9f92884f07cd60217dafbfc4a883f9da5be62c32be19cdfcd7b6af","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-278.545","next":"us-ky/krs-278.5461"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
