{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-27a.092","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 27A.092","heading":"Administrative Office of the Courts to provide Department of Kentucky","body":"State Police with information on applicants for and holders of concealed\ndeadly weapon license.\n(1) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall support the responsibilities of the\nDepartment of Kentucky State Police in the administration of KRS 237.110 by\nproviding information:\n(a) Possessed by the courts with regard to the suitability of an applicant for a\nlicense under KRS 237.110; and\n(b) Possessed by the courts which may result  in the revocation or suspension of a\nlicense issued pursuant to KRS 237.110.\n(2) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall transmit information regarding a\nlicensee which may result in the revocation or suspension of a license issued\npursuant to KRS 237.110 as soon as practicable.\n(3) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall not conduct a National Instant\nCriminal Background Check System (NICS) check for the Department of Kentucky\nState Police.\n(4) For purposes of conducting the continual background check on licensees pursuant to\nKRS 237.110, the Department of Kentucky State Police may provide a list of\nlicensees to the Administrative Office of the Courts. The list of persons holding a\nlicense pursuant to KRS 237.110 shall be held confidential by t he Administrative\nOffice of the Courts and shall be used only for purposes specified in this section and\nKRS 237.110. Information regarding licensees or applicants for a license shall be\ntransmitted only to the Department of Kentucky State Police and shall  not be\ndistributed to any other person or organization within or without the Administrative\nOffice of the Courts or the Court of Justice. The provisions of this section shall not\nbe construed to prohibit or limit the distribution of information to or abou t any\nperson which is authorized to be distributed by law, but the fact that the person is an\napplicant for or holds a license pursuant to KRS 237.110 shall not be distributed.","path":["KRS Chapter 27A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=20941","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:47Z","sha256":"ac8395752cc6f2a2c4ae757b66508206e07d3376a24876ae04e79174618bf86b","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-27a.090","next":"us-ky/krs-27a.095"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
