{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-280.070","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 280.070","heading":"Report of accidents -- Interruptions to service.","body":"(1) Each bridge company and each ferry company shall immediately notify the\nDepartment of Highways in writing of all accidents resulting in loss of life or\nserious injury.\n(2) Whenever, by reason of accident, disability or breakdown, operation of the ferry or\nbridge pursuant to the schedule filed with the department and in compliance with\nthe conditions prescribed by law is impossible, the company shall make available a\nsubstitute way to take the place of the bridge or ferry in order that the schedule may\nbe maintained.\n(3) Whenever an interruption to the regular service of a bridge or ferry has continued or\nis likely to continue over a period of more than twenty-four (24) hours, the company\nshall notify the Department of Highways, in writing or by telephone or telegraph, of\nthe character, cause and probable duration of the interruption, and of the\narrangements made or being made for making available a substitute crossing.","path":["KRS Chapter 280"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14244","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:32Z","sha256":"77a0de5d915574ceaa68747a6c2069da18a7a16f5f64a5844347f81387db7daa","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-280.060","next":"us-ky/krs-280.080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
