{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-280.290","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 280.290","heading":"Appeals in ferry cases.","body":"(1) Any person interested may appeal from any order of the county judge/executive\nconcerning a ferry or ferry rates to the Circuit Court of the county, and thence to the\nCourt of Appeals, both of which shall have jurisdiction of law and fact, but the\nCourt of Appeals of only such facts as are certified from the Circuit Court. The\nappeal shall be prosecuted to the Circuit Court within thirty (30) days from the\nmaking of the order, and to the Court of Appeals in accordance with the Rules of\nCivil Procedure. The c ounty attorney may take an appeal in the name of the\nCommonwealth from any order of the county judge/executive concerning a ferry or\nferry rates, but only if some person becomes responsible to the adverse party for the\ncost incident thereto.\n(2) The Circui t Court shall hear each appeal brought under subsection (1) of this\nsection as an original case, and may command the county judge/executive to enter\nan order in conformity with the judgment of the Circuit Court.","path":["KRS Chapter 280"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14266","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:32Z","sha256":"a35a04c2bdf6a6fe2bb9fa39fe1299c2eb5641421d5f33abced71c7ed8ce52eb","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-280.280","next":"us-ky/krs-280.300"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
