{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-281a.175","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 281A.175","heading":"Requirements for school bus endorsement.","body":"(1) An applicant for a school bus endorsement shall satisfy the following requirements:\n(a) Qualify for a passenger vehicle endorsement by passing the knowledge and\nskills test for obtaining a passenger vehicle endorsement;\n(b) Demonstrate knowledge of loading and unloading children, including the safe\noperation of stop signal devices, external mirror systems, flashing lights, and\nother warning and safety devices required for school buses by state or federal\nlaw or regulation;\n(c) Demonstrate knowledge of emerg ency exits and procedures for safely\nevacuating passengers in an emergency;\n(d) Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to\nsafely traversing highway rail grade crossings; and\n(e) Submit to a physical examination at least eve ry twenty -four (24) months in\naccordance with 49 C.F.R. pt. 391, completed by a medical examiner as\ndefined by 49 C.F.R. pt. 390.\n(2) An applicant for a school bus endorsement shall take a driving skills test in a school\nbus of the same vehicle group as the school bus the applicant will drive.","path":["KRS Chapter 281A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=53995","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:53:35Z","sha256":"f39148509a951ffa62c88683dd662b397160f256ff04261ccec45d134b84a8e8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-281a.170","next":"us-ky/krs-281a.180"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
