{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-286.11-005","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 286.11-005","heading":"License required for persons engaging in money transmission --","body":"Prohibition against transfer or assignment of license.\n(1) On or after October 1, 2006, no person shall engage in the business of money\ntransmission in this state without a license, or without being an agent of a licensee,\nas provided in this subtitle.\n(2) A person is deemed to be engaged in the business of money transmission under this\nsubtitle if the person advertises those services, provides those services with or\nwithout compensation , solicits to provide those services, or holds itself out as\nproviding those services to or from this state, even if the person has no physical\npresence in this state.\n(3) A licensee may conduct its business in this state at one (1) or more locations,\ndirectly or indirectly owned, or through one (1) or more agents, or both, pursuant to\nthe single license issued to the licensee.\n(4) A license issued under this subtitle shall not be transferred or assigned.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14946","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:15Z","sha256":"32a54fd6b31598d9946d09c60cba6853a1927dcef325c6d1d5a6727dd6f61a97","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-286.11-003","next":"us-ky/krs-286.11-007"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
