{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-286.11-055","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 286.11-055","heading":"Right of aggrieved person to file written complaint with commissioner -","body":"- Commissioner's power to investigate and resolve complaints -- Suspension of\nlicense for noncompliance with subpoena -- Petition to court for enforcement.\n(1) Any person aggrie ved by the conduct of a licensee or agent under this subtitle in\nconnection with the licensee's or agent's regulated activities may file a written\ncomplaint with the commissioner, who may investigate the complaint.\n(2) In the course of the investigation in itiated by a complaint or by the commissioner,\nthe commissioner may:\n(a) Subpoena witnesses;\n(b) Administer oaths;\n(c) Examine any individual under oath; and\n(d) Compel the production of records, books, papers, contracts, or other\ndocuments relevant to the investigation.\n(3) If any person fails to testify or to comply with a subpoena from the commissioner\nunder this section, then the commissioner may petition the Franklin Circuit Court or\nany court of competent jurisdiction for enforcement.\n(4) The license of any licensee or the designation of an agent under this subtitle who\nfails to comply with a subpoena of the commissioner may be suspended pending\ncompliance with the subpoena.\n(5) The commissioner may investigate all complaints filed by any person.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14971","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:15Z","sha256":"0b605d6f08f493f1e97372e4428c0c524796a80fbd4b7866639f158cecae1356","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-286.11-053","next":"us-ky/krs-286.11-057"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
