{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-286.9-075","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 286.9-075","heading":"Complaints filed against licensees -- Investigative powers of","body":"commissioner.\n(1) Any person aggrieved by the conduct of a licensee under this subtitle in connection\nwith the licensee's regulated activities may file a written complaint with the\ncommissioner who may investigate the complaint.\n(2) In the course of the investigation initiated by a complaint or by the commissioner,\nthe commissioner may:\n(a) Subpoena witnesses;\n(b) Administer oaths;\n(c) Examine any individual under oath; and\n(d) Compel the production of records, books, papers, contracts, or other\ndocuments relevant to the investigation.\n(3) If any person fails to testify or to comply with a subpoena from the commissioner\nunder this section, the commissioner may petition any court of competen t\njurisdiction for enforcement.\n(4) The license of any licensee under this subtitle who fails to comply with a subpoena\nof the commissioner may be suspended pending compliance with the subpoena.\n(5) The commissioner shall have administrative power to inves tigate all complaints\nfiled by any person if the complaints are not criminal in nature and if they relate to\nthe check cashing or the deferred deposit service business.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14910","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:15Z","sha256":"4025f9e3393d2aac8ff36029b67e5cc1b0e2ec2850e790cffc0488302dba069f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-286.9-074","next":"us-ky/krs-286.9-080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
