{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-286.9-102","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 286.9-102","heading":"Requirements of disclosure by licensees -- Fees and service charges --","body":"Acceptance, payment, and deposit of checks.\n(1) Each licensee who engages in deferred deposit transactions shall give the customer\nthe disclosures in writing required by the Cons umer Credit Protection Act (15\nU.S.C. sec. 1601). Proof of this disclosure shall be made available to the\ncommissioner upon request.\n(2) Each licensee shall conspicuously display a schedule of all fees, and charges for all\nservices provided by the licensee  that are authorized by this subtitle. The notice\nshall be posted at each location where a licensee conducts its business under this\nsubtitle.\n(3) A licensee may charge, collect, and receive check collection charges made by a\nfinancial institution for each  check returned or dishonored for any reason, provided\nthat the terms and conditions upon which check collection charges will be charged\nto the customer are set forth in advance in the written disclosure.\n(4) Any personal check accepted from a customer must be payable to the licensee.\n(5) Before a licensee shall present for payment or deposit a check accepted by the\nlicensee, the check shall be endorsed with the actual name under which the licensee\nis doing business.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=14914","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:15Z","sha256":"8de7409bcd33eac4643a7141bf48a2076083ed5afa5e2fd1f1bf62e30052e231","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-286.9-100","next":"us-ky/krs-286.9-104"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
