{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-299.390","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 299.390","heading":"Assessment contract -- Lien -- Notice and adjustment of loss.","body":"(1) Every person insured by a company shall contract in such form as the company may\nprescribe, which form shall be uniform between all the insured, to pay his pro rata\nshare of all losses or damages sustained by any member thereof from any cause\nspecified in the policy of the company. He shall also pay such reasonable sums for\nexpenses as the bylaws may require. The company shall have a lien upon the\nproperty insured to secure the payment of assessments and calls made under the\npolicy.\n(2) Every policyholder sustaining loss or damage from any cause specified in the policy\nshall notify the president or secretary of the company within sixty (60) days after the\nloss or damage, and the proper officers of the company shall at once proceed to\nascertain and adjust th e loss or damage in the manner provided by law and by the\narticles and bylaws of the company.","path":["KRS Chapter 299"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=15861","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:27Z","sha256":"e8104421cee2b670134dae28182189a7de34d6e6008e30f29bec4bc6b460b301","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-299.380","next":"us-ky/krs-299.400"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
