{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-29a.040","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 29A.040","heading":"Master list of prospective jurors for county -- Annual update.","body":"(1) A list of all persons over the age of eighteen (18) and holding personal\nidentification cards under KRS 186.4122 or valid driver's licenses which were\nissued in the county, of the names and addresses of all persons filing Kentucky\nresident individual income tax returns which show an address in the county, and of\nall persons registered to vote in the county shall constitute a master list of\nprospective jurors for a county.\n(2) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall at least annually acquire an electro nic\ncopy of the list of personal identification cards issued under KRS 186.4122 and the\ndriver's license list from the Transportation Cabinet, an electronic copy of the tax\nroll described in subsection (1) of this section from the Department of Revenue, and\nan electronic copy of the voter registration lists from the State Board of Elections.\nIn addition, the Administrative Office of the Courts shall at least annually acquire a\nlisting of deceased persons from the Vital Statistics Branch in the Department of\nPublic Health. The Transportation Cabinet, the Department of Revenue, the State\nBoard of Elections, and the Vital Statistics Branch and those public officers or\nemployees having custody, possession, or control of any of the lists required under\nthis section shall annually furnish a copy of the list to the Administrative Office of\nthe Courts without charge.\n(3) The Administrative Office of the Courts shall merge the lists required by\nsubsections (1) and (2) of this section in a manner designed to create an accurate\nlisting of all persons eligible for jury service. The Administrative Office of the\nCourts may purge names from the master list upon reasonable evidence of death,\nchange of state residence, change of county residence, or any other reason causing a\nperson to be ineligible for jury service as found in KRS 29A.080.\n(4) Any person who comes into possession of the Kentucky income tax names and\naddresses as provided in this section shall be bound by the confidentiality\nprovisions of KRS 131.190.","path":["KRS Chapter 29A"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=49982","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:49Z","sha256":"3d29a79e8f7ff9a10bec2a544bf8951aa877741fd555cd441abfe33b1310b23a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-29a.030","next":"us-ky/krs-29a.050"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
