{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-29a.180","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 29A.180","heading":"Responsibility for needs of jurors, transportation to view scene, security","body":"personnel, equipment, and services.\n(1) The sheriff or city police, as appropriate, shall be responsible for meals, housing,\nand other incidental needs of grand jurors a nd petit jurors in Circuit Court and in\nDistrict Court when the jurors are kept overnight or otherwise sequestered when\nordered to do so by the judge of the court for which the jurors were summoned. The\nexpenses for these services shall be borne by the Fin ance and Administration\nCabinet and the officer shall be reimbursed in accordance with administrative\nregulations issued by the Finance and Administration Cabinet, pursuant to KRS\nChapter 13A.\n(2) The sheriff or city police, as appropriate, shall be respon sible for the transportation\nof jurors and other authorized persons to views of the scene or other locations\nauthorized by the court pursuant to KRS 29A.310. In criminal cases the expenses\nfor these services shall be borne by the Finance and Administration Cabinet, and the\nsheriff shall be reimbursed in accordance with administrative regulations issued by\nthe Finance and Administration Cabinet, pursuant to KRS Chapter 13A. Excepting\nviews conducted under the Eminent Domain Act of Kentucky, in civil cases th ese\nexpenses shall be paid by the party requesting the viewing.\n(3) The sheriff or city police, as appropriate, shall be responsible for providing any\nspecialized security personnel, equipment, and services which the judge, with the\nconsent of the Chief Justice, shall deem necessary for the conduct of a trial in which\nthe judge believes that special security precautions are necessary or desirable. The\nexpenses for these services shall be borne by the Finance and Administration\nCabinet, and the officer shall  be reimbursed in accordance with administrative\nregulations issued by the Finance and Administration Cabinet, pursuant to KRS\nChapter 13A.
