{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-3.265","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 3.265","heading":"Limitation of jurisdiction ceded.","body":"(1) The powers conferred by KRS 3.255 to 3.275 are solely to enable the\nCommonwealth and the United States to exercise concurrent legislative jurisdiction\nfor purposes of criminal law enforcement over United States Department of the\nInterior National Park System lands in Kentucky. No other legislative jurisdiction is\nceded by KRS 3.255 to 3.275, and there are specifically reserved over any lands as\nto which any legislative jurisdiction may be ceded pursuant to KRS 3.255 to 3.275:\n(a) The entire legislative juri sdiction with respect to taxation of the\nCommonwealth, and of each state agency, county, urban -county government,\ncity, special district and other political subdivision;\n(b) The entire legislative jurisdiction of the Commonwealth with respect to\nmarriage, divorce, annulment, adoption, the commitment or other civil\ndisposition of the mentally incompetent, and the descent and distribution of\nproperty; and\n(c) The power to execute any process, civil or criminal, issued under the authority\nof the Commonwealth.\n(2) No person residing upon such lands shall be deprived of any civil or political rights\nby reason of the cession of such legislative jurisdiction to the United States.","path":["KRS Chapter 3"],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=97","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:48:22Z","sha256":"f6481aa508a94414da8c9b9efd2e48a6dd2c8522b08b8a294c3215e037423103","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-3.260","next":"us-ky/krs-3.270"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
