{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.12-087","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.12-087","heading":"Living Donor Protection Act of 2021.","body":"(1) As used in this section:\n(a) \"Insurance coverage\" means coverage under a disability insurance, life\ninsurance, or long-term care insurance policy; and\n(b) \"Living donor\" means an individual who:\n1. Has donated all or part of an organ; and\n2. Is not deceased.\n(2) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, it shall be unlawful to:\n(a) Limit or decline to issue or renew insurance coverage due solely to the status\nof an individual as a living donor;\n(b) Preclude an insured from donating all or part of an organ as a condition of\ncontinuing to receive insurance coverage; or\n(c) Otherwise discriminate in the offering, issuance, cancellation, amount of\ninsurance coverage, price, or any other condition of insurance coverage\nprovided under a policy, based solely and without any additional ac tuarial\nrisks upon the status of an individual as a living donor.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=51012","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:41Z","sha256":"6fab223929d8c88ce2aad68c1b08a92456c49fb135bb619783c6f4e673c9d58a","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.12-085","next":"us-ky/krs-304.12-090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
