{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.12-190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.12-190","heading":"Illegal dealing in premiums.","body":"(1) No person shall willfully collect any sum as premium or charge for insurance,\nwhich insurance is not then provided or is not in due course to be provided (subject\nto acceptance of the risk by the insurer) by an insurance policy issued by an insurer\nas authorized by this code.\n(2) No person shall willfully collect as premium or charge for insurance any sum in\nexcess of the amount actually expended or in due course to be expended for\ninsurance applicable to the subject on account of which the premium was coll ected\nor charged.\n(3) No person shall willfully or knowingly fail to return to the person entitled thereto\nwithin a reasonable time any sum collected as premium or charge for insurance in\nexcess of the amount actually expended for insurance, or for medical  examination\nin the case of life insurance, applicable to the subject on account of which the\npremium or charge was collected.\n(4) Each violation of this section shall be punishable as provided in Subtitle 99.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17031","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:42Z","sha256":"d11f227877cf9e7cd347e75fb05b36b7b4c4d1e7dcb3d26d56517634e6b7c075","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.12-180","next":"us-ky/krs-304.12-200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
