{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.14-090","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.14-090","heading":"Alteration of application.","body":"(1) Any application for insurance in writing by the applicant shall be altered solely by\nthe applicant or by his written consent, except that insertions may be made by the\ninsurer for administrative purposes only in such manner as to indicate clearly that\nsuch insertions are not to be ascribed to the applicant.\n(2) No person shall falsify or cause to be falsified, in any application for insurance, any\nanswer to a question propounded to the applicant therein, or insert or cause to be\ninserted therein, except as provided in subsection (1) of this section, any statement\nto be made by such applicant other than the statement made by the applicant.\n(3) An insurer issuing a policy upon an application which has been unlawfully altered\nby its officer, employee, or agent shall not have available in any action arising out\nof such policy, any defense based upon the fact of such alteration, or as to any item\nwhich was so altered.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17128","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:43Z","sha256":"642d608fd4684d69dbf92e6960fec4fa73e541d889fd784ee2f4adc870156314","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.14-085","next":"us-ky/krs-304.14-100"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
