{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.14-100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.14-100","heading":"Application as evidence.","body":"(1) No application for the issuance of any life insurance policy shall be admissible in\nevidence in any action relative to such policy, unless a true copy of the application\nwas attached to or otherwise made a part of the policy when issued and delivered. A\nphotostatic or other process copy or reduction of the application or medical\nexamination, if any, may be so used if clearly legible. This provision shall not apply\nto industrial life insurance policies.\n(2) If any policy of life or health insurance delivered  in this state is reinstated or\nrenewed, and the insured or the beneficiary or assignee of the policy makes written\nrequest to the insurer for a copy of the application, if any, for such reinstatement or\nrenewal, the insurer shall, within thirty (30) days after receipt of such request at its\nprincipal office or any of its branch offices, deliver or mail to the person making\nsuch request, a copy of such application. If such copy is not so delivered or mailed,\nthe insurer shall be precluded from introducing s uch application as evidence in any\naction or proceeding based upon or involving the policy or its reinstatement or\nrenewal.\n(3) As to the kinds of insurance other than life insurance, no application for insurance\nsigned by or on behalf of the insured shall  be admissible in evidence in any action\nbetween the insured and the insurer arising out of the policy so applied for, if the\ninsurer has failed, within thirty (30) days after receipt by the insurer of written\ndemand therefor by or on behalf of the insured , to furnish to the insured a copy of\nsuch application reproduced by any legible means.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17129","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:43Z","sha256":"e34ebe514964d1f88677579958da14bf3403e730db8ac219511166af0def78e5","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.14-090","next":"us-ky/krs-304.14-110"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
