{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17-190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17-190","heading":"Change of occupation.","body":"There may be a provision as follows:\n\"Change of Occupation: If the insured be injured or contract sickness after\nhaving changed his occupation to one classified by the insurer as more hazardous\nthan that stated in this policy or while doing for compensation anything pertaining\nto an occupatio n so classified, the insurer will pay only such portion of the\nindemnities provided in this policy as the premium paid would have purchased at\nthe rate and within the limits fixed by the insurer for such more hazardous\noccupation. If the insured changes hi s occupation to one classified by the insurer as\nless hazardous than that stated in this policy, the insurer, upon receipt of proof of\nsuch change of occupation, will reduce the premium rate accordingly, and will\nreturn the excess pro rata unearned premium  from the date of change of occupation\nor from the policy anniversary date immediately preceding receipt of such proof,\nwhichever is the more recent. In applying this provision, the classification of\noccupational risk and the premium rates shall be such as  have been last filed by the\ninsurer prior to the occurrence of the loss for which the insurer is liable or prior to\ndate of proof of change in occupation with the state official having supervision of\ninsurance in the state where the insured resided at the  time this policy was issued;\nbut if such filing was not required, then the classification of occupational risk and\nthe premium rates shall be those last made effective by the insurer in such state\nprior to the occurrence of the loss or prior to the date o f proof of change in\noccupation.\"","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17306","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:45Z","sha256":"09694cbfea453d394ce775b673a5a8a46a1d4f5fe85fb3851d9d7f343bacdfb6","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17-185","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17-200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
