{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17-3185","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17-3185","heading":"Coverage for services of licensed psychologist or licensed clinical social","body":"worker.\nEvery individual health insurance policy issued, delivered, or renewed in this state which\nprovides coverage on an expense -incurred basis for any services performed  by a licensed\npsychologist pursuant to KRS Chapter 319, or by a licensed clinical social worker\npursuant to KRS Chapter 335, shall entitle the policyholder, or other person entitled to\nthese benefits under the policy, to payment of or reimbursement for th e cost of the\nservice, not in excess of the coverage limits, regardless of provider profession. If the\npolicy, contract, or plan permits, payment may be made directly to the provider of the\nservices. If the plan does not permit direct provider reimbursemen t, the person entitled to\nthese benefits shall be entitled to reimbursement for the cost of services received. Nothing\nin this section shall require an individual health insurance policy which places the insured\nwithin a preferred or exclusive provider arr angement to cover services by a provider with\nwhom the insurer does not have a contract, or to make payment of or reimbursement for\nthe cost of any service which exceeds the limits of the policy.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17331","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:45Z","sha256":"36727fc7f04dac8452ed5898853f08f2131fda151a2fe280d78824607d883b0d","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17-318","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17-319"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
