{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-510","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17A-510","heading":"Notification by insurer offering managed care plans of availability of","body":"printed document.\n(1) In addition to the disclosure requirements provided in KRS 304.17A-505, an insurer\nthat offers a managed care plan shall notify an enrollee, in writing, o f the\navailability of a printed document, in a manner consistent with KRS 304.14 -420 to\n304.14-450, containing the following information at the time of enrollment and\nupon request:\n(a) A current participating provider directory providing information on a c overed\nperson's access to primary care health care providers, including available\nparticipating health care providers, by provider category or specialty and by\ncounty. The directory shall include the professional office address of each\nparticipating health care provider. The directory shall also provide information\nabout participating hospitals and other providers. The insurer shall promptly\nnotify each covered person on the termination or withdrawal from the insurer's\nprovider network of the covered person's designated primary care provider;\n(b) General information about the type of financial incentives between\nparticipating providers under contract with the insurer and other participating\nhealth care providers and facilities to which the participating prov iders refer\ntheir managed care patients;\n(c) The insurer's managed care plan's standard for customary waiting times for\nappointments for urgent and routine care; and\n(d) The existence of any hold harmless agreements it has with providers and their\neffect on the enrollee.\nThe insurer shall provide a prospective enrollee with information about the provider\nnetwork, including hospital affiliations, and other information specified in this\nsubsection, upon request. In addition to making the information availabl e in a\nprinted document, an insurer may also make the information available in an\naccessible electronic format.\n(2) Upon request of a covered person, an insurer shall promptly inform the person:\n(a) Whether a particular network provider is board certified; and\n(b) Whether a particular network provider is currently accepting new patients.\n(3) Each insurer shall annually make available to its enrollees at its principal office and\nplace of business:\n(a) Its most recent annual statement of financial condition i ncluding a balance\nsheet and summary of receipts and disbursements; and\n(b) A current description of its organizational structure and operation.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17428","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:47Z","sha256":"1445cddb000637b2e3888cf04939a2eb8afee3485d885205f75aa8a2035c0fac","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-505","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-515"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
