{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-590","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17A-590","heading":"Participating provider directories.","body":"(1) An insurer that offers a managed care plan or a risk-bearing managed care plan shall\nnotify an enrollee, in writing, of the availability, in a manner consistent with KRS\n304.14-420 to 304.14-450, in writing, at the time of enrollment and thereafter upon\nrequest, and as new providers are contracted with by the plans, or as the directory\nmay change, of a current participating provider directory providing information on a\ncovered person's access to primary care physicians and specialists, optometrists,\nchiropractors, and hospitals, including available participating physicians,\noptometrists, chiropractors, and hospitals, by provider category or specialty and by\ncounty. The directory shall include the following:\n(a) Professional office addresses and telephone num bers for all participating\nproviders;\n(b) The benefits for each provider type;\n(c) General information about the type of financial incentives between\nparticipating providers under contract with the insurer and other participating\nhealth care providers and facilities to which the participating providers refer\ntheir managed care patients; and\n(d) Grievance procedures available under the plans for complaint resolutions.\nIn addition to making the information available in a printed document, an insurer\nmay also make the information available in an accessible electronic format.\n(2) The insurer shall promptly notify each covered person on the termination or\nwithdrawal from the insurer's provider network of the covered person's designated\nprimary care provider.\n(3) The provisions of this section shall be implemented prior to any open enrollment\nperiod for which the effective date of coverage will be January 1, 1999, or for which\nthe effective date shall commence after an open enrollment period, and shall\ncontinue for each open enrollment period thereafter.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=17449","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:47Z","sha256":"4514bbc3c6d3a9f4083a2662b07126d3707b136293765ae2dcc4457925369781","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-580","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-591"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
