(Effective January 1, 2027)\nAn insurer that offers or provides coverage for the treatment of a diagnosed feeding or\neating disorder under a health plan:\n(1) Shall not utilize any of the following standards as the sole reason for denying,\nlimiting, or restricting the coverage:\n(a) Body mass index;\n(b) Ideal body weight; or\n(c) Any other standard requiring an achieved weight; and\n(2) May consider t he following factors when determining the medical necessity of a\ntreatment, or the appropriate level of care, for an individual with a diagnosed\nfeeding or eating disorder:\n(a) Eating behaviors;\n(b) The need for supervised meals and support interventions;\n(c) Laboratory results of heart rate, renal or cardiovascular activity, and blood\npressure;\n(d) Recovery environment; and\n(e) Co-occurring disorders.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=58251","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:48Z","sha256":"9a4283e117e8d8bef33cc33047752242c22b86731fd43da873d8c65680a78df9","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-657","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-660"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
