{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-702","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17A-702","heading":"Claims payment time frames -- Duties of insurer.","body":"(1) Except for claims involving organ transplants, each insurer shall reimburse a\nprovider for a clean claim or send a written or an electronic notice denying or\ncontesting the claim within thirty (30) calendar days from the date that the claim is\nreceived by the insurer or any entity that administers or processes claims on behalf\nof the insurer. Clean claims involving organ transplants shall be paid, denied, or\ncontested within sixty (60) calendar days from the date that the claim is received by\nthe insurer or  any entity that administers or processes claims on behalf of the\ninsurer.\n(2) Within the applicable claims payment time frame, an insurer shall:\n(a) Pay the total amount of the claim in accordance with any contract between the\ninsurer and the provider;\n(b) Pay the portion of the claim that is not in dispute and notify the provider, in\nwriting or electronically, of the reasons the remaining portion of the claim will\nnot be paid; or\n(c) Notify the provider, in writing or electronically, of the reasons no par t of the\nclaim will be paid.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29329","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:48Z","sha256":"5c764ef8f4044410b13431fda83b92499de42817c726b6d32a88f6416c861cc4","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-700","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-704"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
