{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-768","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17A-768","heading":"Voucher -- Redemption -- Payment of premium amount -- Fee to","body":"process voucher -- Administrative regulations.\n(1) A voucher issued by an employer shall only be redeemable at an insurance\npurchasing outlet. A voucher shall be nonassignable and nontransferable.\n(2) An insurance purchasing outlet shall redeem the value of the voucher with the\nemployer. If an employer fails to redeem the value of the voucher, the insurance\npurchasing outlet shall notify the eligible person. An eligible person may pay the\npremium amount directly to the insurance purchasing outlet if the employer fails to\nredeem the value of the voucher.\n(3) An insurance purchasing outlet shall pay an insurer the appropriate premium\namount on or before the premium due date. If an insurance purchasing outlet fails to\npay the premium amount on or before the due date the following shall occur:\n(a) An insurer shall issue the insurance purchasing outlet a notice of termination\nif the premium amount is not paid pursuant to KRS 304.17A-245;\n(b) Upon receipt of a notice of termination from the insurer, the insurance\npurchasing outlet shall issue the eligible member a notice of termination; and\n(c) The insurer shall notify the eligible person of his or her conversion rights\nunder KRS 304.18-110.\n(4) An insurer may allow for a thirty-one (31) day grace period for the premium amount\nto be paid by the insurance purchasing outlet.\n(5) The department shall prescribe the items to be included on a voucher.\n(6) An insurance purchasing outlet shall be required to accept a voucher as payment for\na health benefit plan, or as partial payment if the value of the voucher is insufficient\nto cover the full premium of the health benefit plan.\n(7) An insurance purchasing outlet may charge a reasonable administrative fee to cover\nthe cost of processing the voucher.\n(8) The commissioner shall promulgate administrative regulations to implement the\nprovisions of this section.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29359","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:48Z","sha256":"8f19b04d9ff5f5075428d41da925b6995ae8dfdf9ec5f56433149a125c7e863f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-766","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17a-770"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
