{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.17c-120","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.17C-120","heading":"Prescription eye drops coverage to include refills and additional bottle","body":"if conditions met.\n(1) As used in this section, \"practitioner\" has the same meaning as in KRS 217.015.\n(2) Any limited health service benefit plan issued or renewed on or a fter January 1,\n2015, that provides coverage for prescription eye drops shall not deny coverage for\na refill of a prescription if:\n(a) The refill is requested by the insured:\n1. For a thirty (30) day supply, between twenty -five (25) days and thirty\n(30) days from the later of:\na. The original date the prescription was distributed to the insured; or\nb. The date the most recent refill was distributed to the insured; and\n2. For a ninety (90) day supply, between eighty (80) days and ninety (90)\ndays from the later of:\na. The original date the prescription was distributed to the insured; or\nb. The date the most recent refill was distributed to the insured; and\n(b) The prescribing practitioner indicates on the original prescription that\nadditional quantities are n eeded, and the refill requested by the insured does\nnot exceed the number of additional quantities needed.\n(3) (a) Any limited health service benefit plan issued or renewed on or after January\n1, 2015, that provides coverage for prescription eye drops shal l provide\ncoverage for one (1) additional bottle of prescription eye drops, pursuant to\nKRS 304.17A-165, when:\n1. The addition al bottle is requested by the insured or the prescribing\npractitioner at the time the original prescription is distributed to the\ninsured; and\n2. The prescribing practitioner indicates on the original prescription that\nthe additional bottle is needed by th e insured for use in a day care center\nor school.\n(b) Coverage for an additional bottle shall be limited to one (1) bottle every three\n(3) months.\n(4) The coverages required by this section shall not be subject to a greater deductible or\ncopayment than oth er similar health care services provided by the limited health\nservice benefit plan.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=43574","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:49Z","sha256":"ef4d4ff7087d46af4588cb934d406f0ccb4e297f7fec15fc207db8fe42a4ff57","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.17c-110","next":"us-ky/krs-304.17c-125"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
