{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.18-095","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.18-095","heading":"Indemnity payable for services performed by optometrists, osteopaths,","body":"physicians, chiropractors, or podiatrists.\n(1) When any policy or group insurance or blanket health insurance issued in this state\nprovides for reimbursement for any service whic h is within the lawful scope of\npractice of an optometrist duly licensed as provided in KRS Chapter 320, the\ninsured or other person entitled to benefits under such policy shall be entitled to\nreimbursement for such services, whether such services are perf ormed by a duly\nlicensed physician, osteopath, or optometrist, notwithstanding any provision\ncontained in such policy, or if the policy so provides, payment may be made directly\nto the provider of the services.\n(2) When any policy or group insurance or bla nket health insurance issued in this state\nprovides for reimbursement for any service which is within the lawful scope of\npractice of a chiropractor duly licensed under KRS Chapter 312, the insured or\nother person entitled to benefits under such policy sha ll be entitled to\nreimbursement for such services, whether such services are performed by a duly\nlicensed physician, osteopath, or chiropractor, notwithstanding any provision\ncontained in such policy; or if the policy so provides, payment may be made directly\nto the provider of the services.\n(3) When any policy of group insurance or blanket health insurance issued in this state\nprovides for reimbursement for any service which is within the lawful scope of\npractice of a podiatrist duly licensed under KRS Cha pter 311, the insured or other\nperson entitled to benefits under that policy shall be entitled to reimbursement for\nthose services, whether those services are performed by a duly licensed physician,\nosteopath, chiropractor, or podiatrist, notwithstanding a ny provision contained in\nthe policy, or if the policy so provides, payment may be made directly to the\nprovider of the services.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29438","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:49Z","sha256":"871f7507b31e52ceed294fb1e23c3551477e7a6343178d4cdf017f9e679d0e88","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.18-090","next":"us-ky/krs-304.18-097"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
