{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.18-0985","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.18-0985","heading":"Coverage for treatment of breast cancer.","body":"(1) All insurers issuing group or blanket health insurance policies and certificates in\nthis Commonwealth providing coverage on an expense -incurred basis for treatment\nof breast cancer by chemotherapy shall also provide coverage for treatment of breast\ncancer by high-dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow transplantation or\nstem cell transplantation.\n(2) The administration of high -dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow\ntransplantation or stem cell transplantation shall only be covered when performed in\ninstitutions that comply with the guidelines of the American Society for Blood and\nMarrow Transplantation or the International Society of Hematotherapy and Graft\nEngineering, whichever has the higher standard.\n(3) Treatment of breast cancer by high -dose chemotherapy with autologous bone\nmarrow transplantation or stem cell transplantation shall not be considered\nexperimental or investigational.
