{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.19-060","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.19-060","heading":"Term of insurance.","body":"(1) The term of any credit life insurance or credit health insurance shall, subject to\nacceptance by the insurer, commence on the date when the debtor becomes\nobligated to the creditor; except, that where a group policy provides coverage with\nrespect to existi ng obligations, the insurance on a debtor with respect to such\nindebtedness shall commence on the effective date of the policy.\n(2) Where evidence of insurability is required and such evidence is furnished more than\nthirty (30) days after the date when the debtor becomes obligated to the creditor, the\nterm of the insurance may commence on the date on which the insurer determines\nthe evidence to be satisfactory, and in such event there shall be an appropriate\nrefund or adjustment of any charge to the debtor for insurance.\n(3) The term of such insurance shall not extend more than fifteen (15) days beyond the\noriginal or revised scheduled maturity date of the indebtedness except when\nextended without additional cost to the debtor.\n(4) If the indebtedness is discharged due to renewal or refinancing prior to the\nscheduled maturity date, the insurance in force shall be terminated before any new\ninsurance may be issued in connection with the renewed or refinanced indebtedness.\nIn all cases of termination prior to  scheduled maturity, a refund shall be paid or\ncredited as provided in KRS 304.19-090.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29463","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:49Z","sha256":"0a35defcbda9e4cb51858e5afa5c0d04ac453658ffaeabfa4b47c5eea9869aad","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.19-050","next":"us-ky/krs-304.19-070"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
