{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.19-082","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.19-082","heading":"Rates for credit health insurance coverage to credit union borrowers","body":"when coverage is not a loan condition.\n(1) Notwithstanding KRS 304.19 -080, an insurer issuing credit health insurance\ncoverage to credit union borrowers, when the coverage is not required as a\ncondition of the loan, may use higher credit health insurance premium rates for\nspecific credit unions if the rates for those credit unions have been filed with the\ncommissioner, and within thirty (30) days of the filing the commissioner has not\ndisapproved the rate as excessive in relation to the benefits provided.\n(2) In determining whether to disapprove any rate, the commissioner shall give due\nconsideration to the morbidity costs with respect to the insurance, a reasonable\nmargin for underwriting expenses, profits, contingencies and other reasonable costs\nand expenses attributable to the insurer, and costs and compensation to the creditor\nfor providing and servicing the insurance, plus the premium taxes payable on the\ninsurance.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29466","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:49Z","sha256":"bfe5718389f77562683e1c35423f684f0471b790042b53108fed321176e50a33","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.19-080","next":"us-ky/krs-304.19-090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
