{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.2-080","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.2-080","heading":"Prohibited interest, rewards.","body":"(1) The commissioner or any deputy, examiner, actuary, assistant or employee of the\ndepartment, shall not be connected with the management of, or be financially\ninterested, directly or indirectly, in any insurer, insurance agency or broker, or\ninsurance transaction except as policyholder or claimant under a policy; except, that\nas to matters wherein a conflict of interest does not exist on the part of any such\nindividual, the commissioner may employ or retain from time to time insurance\nactuaries, examiners, ac countants, attorneys, or other technicians who are\nindependently practicing their profession even though from time to time similarly\nemployed or retained by insurers or others.\n(2) No person shall directly or indirectly give or pay to the commissioner or any deputy,\nexaminer, actuary, assistant, employee or technician retained by the department; and\nthe commissioner, or any deputy, examiner, actuary, assistant, employee or\ntechnician retained by the department, shall not directly or indirectly receive or\naccept any fee, compensation, loan, gift or other thing of value in addition to the\ncompensation and expense allowance provided by law, or by contract with the\ncommissioner, for any service rendered or to be rendered, as such commissioner,\ndeputy, examiner, actuary, assistant, employee or technician, or in connection\ntherewith.\n(3) Subsection (1) of this section shall not be deemed to prohibit receipt by any such\nperson of commissions or retirement benefits to which entitled by reason of services\nperformed pr ior to becoming commissioner or prior to employment by the\ncommissioner.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=16654","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:36Z","sha256":"81cdd66d2830ea3b1be010ba5fdead90ded26a2de65f41c108bd210a95d10322","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.2-070","next":"us-ky/krs-304.2-090"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
