{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.2-100","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.2-100","heading":"General powers and duties of commissioner.","body":"(1) The commissioner shall personally supervise the operations of the department.\n(2) The commissioner shall examine and inquire into violations of this code, shall\nenforce the provisions of this code with impartiality and shall execute the duties\nimposed upon him or her by this code.\n(3) The commissioner shall have the powers and authority expressly conferred upon\nhim or her by or reasonably implied from the provisions of this code.\n(4) The commissioner may conduct such examinations and investigations of insur ance\nmatters, in addition to examinations and investigations expressly authorized, as the\ncommissioner may deem proper upon reasonable and probable cause to determine\nwhether any person has violated any provisions of this code or to secure information\nuseful in the lawful administration of any such provision. The cost of such\nadditional examinations and investigations shall be borne by the state.\n(5) The commissioner may establish and maintain such branch offices in this state as\nmay be reasonably required for the efficient administration of this code.\n(6) The commissioner shall have such additional powers and duties as may be provided\nby other laws of this state.\n(7) The commissioner shall assist the Office of Health Data and Analytics in carrying\nout Subtitle 17B of this chapter and KRS 194A.099.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=48828","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:36Z","sha256":"a7333aa6c7e9d98f34d16907d86994771073db2db5b03ee1487cea6d1a162737","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.2-090","next":"us-ky/krs-304.2-105"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
