{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.20-150","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.20-150","heading":"Definitions.","body":"(1) As used in KRS 304.20-160 to 304.20-190, \"authorized agencies\" shall mean:\n(a) State commissioner of insurance;\n(b) The state fire marshal when authorized or charged with the investigation of\nfires at the place where the fire actually took place;\n(c) The state Attorney General when authorized or charged with the investigation\nof fires at the place where the fire actually took place;\n(d) The commissioner of the Department of Kentucky State Police;\n(e) The full -time Commonwealth's or county attorney responsib le for\nprosecutions in the county where the fire occurred;\n(f) The Federal Bureau of Investigation or any other federal agency having the\nauthority to investigate federal offenses arising from arson; and\n(g) Any United States' attorney's office authorized or charged with investigation\nor prosecution of the fire in question or the violation of any statute arising\nfrom said fire.\n(2) As used in KRS 304.20 -160 to 304.20 -190, \"relevant\" means information having\nany tendency to make the existence of any fact tha t is of consequence to the\ninvestigation or determination of the issue more probable or less probable than it\nwould be without the evidence.\n(3) For the purposes of KRS 304.20 -160 to 304.20 -190, information will be \"deemed\nimportant\" if such information is requested by an authorized agency.\n(4) \"Insurer,\" as used in KRS 304.20 -160 to 304.20 -190, shall be defined in the same\nmanner as it is defined in KRS 304.1 -040, and shall include the Kentucky FAIR\nplan and reinsurance association, and all authorized pers ons acting on behalf of an\ninsurer.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29489","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:50Z","sha256":"83c3a89a6d6d7268e6436c91351983cdb5835a97f453821fb2256fc2b1caf877","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.20-110","next":"us-ky/krs-304.20-160"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
