{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.20-330","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.20-330","heading":"Reasons for cancellation.","body":"After coverage has been in effect more than sixty (60) days or after the effective date of a\nrenewal policy a notice of cancellation shall not be issued unless it is based on at least one\n(1) of the following reasons:\n(1) Nonpayment of premium;\n(2) Discovery of fraud or material misrepresentation made by or with the knowledge of\nthe named insured in obtaining the policy, continuing the policy, or in presenting a\nclaim under the policy;\n(3) Discovery of willful or reckless acts or omissions on the part of th e named insured\nwhich increase any hazard insured against;\n(4) The occurrence of a change in the risk which substantially increases any hazard\ninsured against after insurance coverage has been issued or renewed;\n(5) A violation of any local fire, health, s afety, building, or construction regulation or\nordinance with respect to any insured property or the occupancy thereof which\nsubstantially increases any hazard insured against;\n(6) The insurer is unable to reinsure the risk covered by the policy; or\n(7) A determination by the commissioner that the continuation of the policy would\nplace the insurer in violation of the Kentucky insurance code or regulations of the\ncommissioner.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29504","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:50Z","sha256":"2c16ed6fd789b8955c6755b723e3b524b812232867d7a709163f5cfc80589ad8","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.20-320","next":"us-ky/krs-304.20-340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
