{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.24-190","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.24-190","heading":"Meetings of members of mutual insurer.","body":"(1) Meetings of members of a domestic mutual insurer shall be held in the city or town\nof its registered office in this state, except as may otherwise be provided in the\ninsurer's bylaws with the commissioner's approval.\n(2) Each such insurer shall, during the  first six (6) months of each calendar year, hold\nthe annual meeting of its members to fill vacancies existing or occurring in the\nboard of directors, receive and consider reports of the insurer's officers as to its\naffairs and transact such other business as may properly be brought before it.\n(3) Written notice of the time and place of the annual meeting of members shall be\ngiven members not less than thirty (30) days prior to the meeting. Notice may be\ngiven by imprinting the notice plainly on the policie s issued by the insurer or in any\nother appropriate manner. Any change of the date or place of the annual meeting\nshall be made only by an annual meeting of members. Notice of such change,\namong other appropriate methods may be given:\n(a) By imprinting such new date or place on all policies which will be in effect as\nof the date of such changed meeting; and\n(b) Unless the commissioner otherwise orders, notice of the new date or place\nneed be given only through policies issued after the date of the annual meeting\nat which such change was made and in premium notices and renewal\ncertificates issued during the twenty -four (24) months immediately following\nsuch meeting.\n(4) If more than six (6) months are allowed to elapse after an annual meeting of\nmembers is du e to be held without such annual meeting being held, the\ncommissioner shall, upon written request of any officer, director, or member of the\ninsurer, cause written notice of such meeting to be given to the insurer's members,\nand the meeting shall be held as soon as reasonably possible thereafter.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29551","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:51Z","sha256":"e5fb7623902890fd330985b38acda44891659240e325b748e57bd55521ad962f","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.24-180","next":"us-ky/krs-304.24-200"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
