{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.28-030","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.28-030","heading":"Application for license.","body":"Underwriters shall file with the commissioner for an original certificate of authority, an\napplication, signed and sworn to by their duly authorized attorney, setting forth in\naddition to matters required in KRS 304.3-150:\n(1) The name of the attorney and title under which the business is to be conducted,\nwhich title shall contain the name Lloyd's and shall not be so similar to any name or\ntitle in use in this state as to be likely to confuse or deceive;\n(2) The names and addresses of all the underwriters p roposing to engage in the\nbusiness;\n(3) The number of underwriters, which shall not be less than twenty -five (25), and that\neach underwriter is worth in his or her own right not less than $20,000 over and\nabove all his or her liabilities;\n(4) A copy of each form of policy or contract by which such insurance is to be effected;\n(5) A copy of the form of power of attorney by virtue of which the attorney is to act for\nand bind the several underwriters and a copy of the articles of agreement entered\ninto between the underwriters themselves and the attorney;\n(6) A financial statement showing in detail the assets contributed or accumulated in the\nhands of the attorney, committee of underwriters, trustees and/or other officers of\nsuch underwriters at Lloyd's, togeth er with the liabilities incurred and outstanding\nand the income received and disbursements made by the attorney for the\nunderwriters; and\n(7) An instrument executed by each and all of the underwriters specially empowering\nthe attorney to accept services of  process for each underwriter in any action on any\npolicy or contract of insurance and an instrument from the attorney to the\ncommissioner, delegating the attorney's powers in this respect to the commissioner.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29639","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:52Z","sha256":"7d8b62fe382c2994dcbdd8f93b45912088c93ac40fb735ff33c3fdbc1d981336","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.28-020","next":"us-ky/krs-304.28-040"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
