{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.29-071","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.29-071","heading":"Location of office -- Meetings -- Communications to members --","body":"Grievance procedures.\n(1) The principal office of any domestic society shall be located in this state. The\nmeetings of its supreme governing body may be held in any state, district, pro vince\nor territory wherein the society has at least one (1) subordinate lodge, or in such\nother location as determined by the supreme governing body; and all business\ntransacted at the meetings shall be as valid in all respects as if the meetings were\nheld in this state. The minutes of the proceedings of the supreme governing body\nand of the board of directors shall be in the English language.\n(2) (a) A society may provide in its laws for an official publication in which any\nnotice, report, or statement required by law to be given to members, including\nnotice of election, may be published. The required reports, notices and\nstatements shall be printed conspicuously in the publication. If the records of a\nsociety show that two (2) or more members have the same mailing address, an\nofficial publication mailed to one (1) member shall be deemed to be mailed to\nall members at the same address unless a member requests a separate copy.\n(b) Not later than June 1 of each year, a synopsis of the society's annual statemen t\nproviding an explanation of the facts concerning the condition of the society\nthereby disclosed shall be printed and mailed to each benefit member of the\nsociety; or, in lieu thereof, the synopsis may be published in the society's\nofficial publication.\n(3) A society may provide in its laws or rules for grievance or complaint procedures for\nmembers.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29659","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:52Z","sha256":"2b9569f874cce31c7ed3084423459cca3e78acea077d9d439b4b3d89fc001d11","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.29-070","next":"us-ky/krs-304.29-080"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
