{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.29-331","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.29-331","heading":"Licensing of agents of fraternal benefit societies.","body":"(1) An agent of a fraternal benefit society shall be licensed as an agent in accordance\nwith the provisions of Subtitle 9 of this chapter regulating all aspects of agent\nlicenses.\n(2) Subsection (1) of this section includes the requirement that the agent shall\nsatisfactorily complete the continuing education requirements in accordance with\nKRS 304.9-295.\n(3) An agent of a society shall be appointed by the society in accordance with the\nprovisions of Subtitle 9 of this chapter regulating all aspects of agent appointments.\n(4) No examination or license shall be required of any regular salaried officer,\nemployee, or member of a licensed society who devotes substantially all of his\nservices to activities other than the solicitation of fraternal insurance contracts f rom\nthe public, and who receives for the solicitation of the contracts no commission or\nother compensation directly dependent upon the amount of business obtained.\n(5) Any agent, representative, or member of a society who devotes, or intends to\ndevote, les s than fifty percent (50%) of the person's time to the solicitation and\nprocurement of insurance contracts for the society shall be exempt from the\nrequirements of subsection (1) of this section. Any person who in the preceding\ncalendar year has solicited and procured life insurance contracts on behalf of any\nsociety in an amount of insurance in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), or in\nthe case of any other kind or kinds of insurance which the society might write, on\nthe persons of more than twenty -five (25) individuals and who has received or will\nreceive a commission or other compensation therefor, shall be presumed to be\ndevoting, or intending to devote, fifty percent (50%) of time to the solicitation or\nprocurement of insurance contracts for such society.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29711","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:53Z","sha256":"318e9bbd057f8e86e71c3e632d7c9c1d0157d11422da8dbb8d326c9bd4456cbc","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.29-330","next":"us-ky/krs-304.29-340"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
