{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.3-110","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.3-110","heading":"Combinations of insuring powers, one insurer.","body":"An insurer which otherwise qualifies therefor may be authorized to transact any one (1)\nkind or any combination of kinds of insurance as defined in Subtitle 5 of this chapter,\nexcept:\n(1) A life insurer may transact life insurance and grant annuities, but shall not be\nauthorized to transact any other kind of insurance except:\n(a) Health insurance, including disability income insurance and paid family leave\ninsurance; and\n(b) The commissioner may, if the insurer otherwise qualifies therefor, continue\nany aut horization to transact in this state a kind or kinds of insurance not\nauthorized under this subsection if the life insurer was, immediately prior to\nJune 18, 1970, lawfully authorized to transact the insurance and has\ncontinuously transacted the insurance since that date;\n(2) Only an insurer with a certificate of authority to sell life insurance may grant and\nissue annuity contracts;\n(3) A reciprocal or Lloyd's insurer shall not transact life insurance;\n(4) A title insurer:\n(a) Shall be a stock insurer; and\n(b) May transact title insurance, but shall not be authorized to transact any other\nkind of insurance;\n(5) A mortgage guaranty insurer:\n(a) Shall be a stock insurer; and\n(b) May transact mortgage guaranty insurance, but shall not transact any other\nkind of insurance; and\n(6) Only an insurer with a certificate of authority to sell life insurance or health\ninsurance may transact disability income insurance or paid family leave insurance.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=54519","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:37Z","sha256":"df8e2d21d717f60fdba6c14702d97845d7816af7d77ada51fcf3ad5ef4eab058","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.3-100","next":"us-ky/krs-304.3-120"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
