{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.32-1595","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.32-1595","heading":"Coverage for treatment of breast cancer.","body":"(1) All nonprofit hospital, medical -surgical, dental, and health service corporations\nissuing contracts in this Commonwealth which provide hospital, medical, or\nsurgical expense benefits for treatment of breast cancer by chemotherapy shall also\nprovide coverag e for treatment of breast cancer by high -dose chemotherapy with\nautologous bone marrow transplantation or stem cell transplantation.\n(2) The administration of high -dose chemotherapy with autologous bone marrow\ntransplantation or stem cell transplantation shall only be covered when performed in\ninstitutions that comply with the guidelines of the American Society for Blood and\nMarrow Transplantation or the International Society of Hematotherapy and Graft\nEngineering, whichever has the higher standard.\n(3) Treatment of breast cancer by high -dose chemotherapy with autologous bone\nmarrow transplantation or stem cell transplantation shall not be considered\nexperimental or investigational.
