In a liquidation proceeding begun in this state against an insurer\ndomiciled in this state, claimants residing in foreign countries or in states not\nreciprocal states must file claims in this state, and claimants residing in reciprocal\nstates may file claims either with the ancillary receivers, if any, in their respective\nstates, or with the domiciliary liquidator. Claims must be filed on or before the last\ndates fixed for the filing of claims in the domiciliary liquidation proceeding.\n(2) Proving claims. Claims belonging to claimants residing in reciprocal states may be\nproved either in the liquidation proceeding in this state as provided in this subtitle,\nor in ancillary proceedings, if any, in the reciprocal states. If notice of the claim and\nopportunity to appear and be heard is afforded the domiciliary liquidator of this\nstate as provided in KRS 304.33 -570 with respect to ancillary proceedings in this\nstate, the final allowance of claims by the courts in ancillary proceedings in\nreciprocal states shall be conclusive as to amount and as to priority against special\ndeposits or other security located in the ancillary states, but shall not be conclusive\nwith respect to priorities against general assets under KRS 304.33-430.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=29876","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:55Z","sha256":"5ff9aab5c5addb50829252adece913535b4e8a6e1042136430cb69eb53c52604","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.33-550","next":"us-ky/krs-304.33-570"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
