{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.38-196","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.38-196","heading":"Indemnity payable for services performed by chiropractors, physicians,","body":"osteopaths, or podiatrists.\n(1) Any certificate, agreement or contract issued in this state by a health maintenance\norganization which provides coverage for any service which is  within the lawful\nscope of practice of a chiropractor duly licensed under KRS Chapter 312, shall be\ndeemed to provide benefits for such services whether performed by a duly licensed\nphysician, osteopath, or chiropractor, notwithstanding any provision cont ained in\nthe certificate, agreement or contract. An enrollee requesting chiropractic treatment\nfor otherwise covered conditions shall not unreasonably be denied chiropractic\ntreatment if treatment of the conditions is within the lawful scope of chiropracti c\npractice.\n(2) Any certificate, agreement, or contract issued in this state by a health maintenance\norganization which provides coverage for any service which is within the lawful\nscope of practice of a podiatrist duly licensed under KRS Chapter 311, shal l be\ndeemed to provide benefits for those services whether performed by a duly licensed\nphysician, osteopath, chiropractor, or podiatrist, notwithstanding any provision\ncontained in the certificate, agreement, or contract.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=30000","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:56Z","sha256":"9797f7b99402dfbbfc5620678175298853c8034a0f0990fc987ba9716bacf78c","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.38-1955","next":"us-ky/krs-304.38-197"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
