{"data":{"id":"us-ky/krs-304.7-461","jurisdiction":"us-ky","citation":"KRS 304.7-461","heading":"Equity interests in business entities.","body":"(1) Subject to the limitations of KRS 304.7 -455, an insurer may acquire equity interests\nin business entities organized under the laws of any domestic jurisdiction.\n(2) An insurer shall not acquire an investment under this section if, as a result of and\nafter giving effect to the investment, the aggregate amount of investments then held\nby the insurer under this section would exceed the greater of twenty -five percent\n(25%) of its admitted assets or one hundred percent (100%) of its surplus as regards\npolicyholders.\n(3) An insurer shall not acquire under this section any investments that the insurer may\nacquire under KRS 304.7-465.\n(4) An insurer shall not short sell equity investments unless the insurer covers the short\nsale by owning the equity investment or an  unrestricted right to the equity\ninstrument exercisable within six (6) months of the short sale.","path":[],"source_url":"https://apps.legislature.ky.gov/law/statutes/statute.aspx?id=16857","current_through":"Includes enactments through the 2026 Regular Session","vintage":"09/05/2026","retrieved_at":"2026-09-05T20:57:39Z","sha256":"e5afa7f319d6dbf9af195e833f3129d134c3c5eb78a66c050022fbdb24061063","source_id":"us-ky","stale":false,"prev":"us-ky/krs-304.7-459","next":"us-ky/krs-304.7-463"},"notice":"GroundRules: Original legal text.
